Handmade Monday

This week had been all about Jute Bags.

I designed a new product range and it all went a bit mad.  It started with making a pretty bag for a test run and then I decided to make one for one of the TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) girls I really admired.

Lydia Rose Bright is not only super pretty, but she loves a bit of vintage and owns her own little boutique Bella Sorella in Loughton selling beautiful vintage inspired clothing and gifts.  I couldn't think of a better person to make a bag for.

I delivered it on Thursday (more about that in another blog post to come) and from then on a flurry of orders came in.

I used a whole host of trim to make these bags.  Lace and a few of the vintage brooches I picked up at last weeks boot sale for the vintage ones.

Bright fabrics and felts for the bright and funky ones and lots of satin and bling for the classy ones.

I then went on to make another freebie for Lucy Mecklenburgh who also owns a beautiful boutique in my home town of Brentwood and also where a lot of the show is filmed.  Lucy is super classy and her shop front is all black and bling, so I threw in lots of satin and velvet with added sparkle for this bag. I dropped this off at the weekend but again it's a story for another post!

If you would like to order a custom made personalised Jute then leave a comment below or e-mail me for more details.  Prices start at £25 and rise to £35 for a super swanky version!

  3. Great to get orders. Can't have to many bright/quirky/shabby chic shopping bags around in my opinion!
