Great British Sewing Bee - Sew Your Own Wardrobe - Book review

We bought ourselves a copy of the latest Great British Sewing Bee book that accompanies Series 2.

The girls over at Craft Candy asked us to review it for them.

Pop over HERE and read what we wrote.

  1. Hi Claire, I've just come back from reading the review and glad to have done so as I was thinking about buying the book as this is the first time I've really watched the series. I noticed the book is wrapped up with cellophane in the shop, prob to keep the patterns secure, so it cant even be browsed before buying so a proper review is very helpful. Your dress is very pretty, and be clear this is no comment on you as the wearer or maker, but I'd agree the sizing looks uncomfortably neat. Seems a bit strange that they've only decided to make it up to size 18 when the skinny folk are going to have to bag the larger size just to get a decent fit!

I suppose though for many people who buy the book it will be a coffee table book and never progress to any real sewing. Alternatively, you might do a roaring trade in classes.

  2. A wonderful dress Claire. A great review of the book, you wouldn't expect there to be so many mistakes in just one pattern. Love the show, having had the fly this week, I laid on the sofa and watched the whole series back to back. Not sure why I didn't watch the first series, hopefully I will be able to watch it online.
