Blogging with the Cookery Angel

You may or may not know that as well as creating 'Beautiful Things' I also like to share my skills and experience in the handmade and sales markets with others.  I do this by offering a number of services including (but not exhaustive)
  • Blog set up
  • Blog training  (how to get the best from your page and your time)
  • Facebook page set-up
  • Facebook page training (how to get the best from your page and your time)
  • Etsy & Folksy shop set up + usage training
  • Event management including (design and print of publicity materials if required)
  • Print management for clients requiring marketing materials
The other week I had the great pleasure of getting together with Linda a.k.a The Cookery Angel.

Linda describes herself as a 'cook' who has a love for baking, trying new things, experimenting in the kitchen and Emma Bridgewater! She has a lovely little terraced house in my home town of Brentwood and this is where we got together along with her lovely dogs to work on Linda's blog.

I arrived at her house to the smell of baking!  Sure enough there were fresh clotted cream scones in the oven and they were soon to be served with jam, fresh strawberries and clotted cream.  (Don't worry I don't expect this level of service from all my clients, but you wont hear me complaining)!!

Linda had already made a blog using Blogger and had started to add some posts.  I added a background and a new header as well as some sidebar features such as her Twitter feed and Facebook links.  I also taught her how to make the most of her time by scheduling blog posts and encouraging her to be snap happy with her camera to build up a nice stash of images to include with her posts.

Lastly we worked on tagging her posts so that she could utilise the inbuilt labels feature to allow visitors to her blog to pick categories which most interest them.  As Linda's blog is a cooking blog she can now tuck all her recipes away in one place to be easily found as well as her 'Top Tips'

We had a lovely time, despite it being Friday the 13th and Linda's self confessed phobia of technology I think we did very well between us.

The best part for me though had to be the scones!  I'm sure it wont be long before Linda blogs the recipe, so do pop over to her blog for a follow.

If you need a little helping hand with social media or a project/event then do get in touch to see how I might be able to help you.  Sometimes it's worth remembering 'Time is money' and if you have a busy life with your business and just cant afford the time to run a project, it could well be worth your while asking me to undertake the task for you.
