Beautiful Things came about a bit suddenly back in February when I decided to stop making cards for stock. My life had got far too hectic and I simply did not have the time to keep attending endless school shopping nights flogging my guts out for very little return. I am fortunate enough to have some lovely regular customers who keep me on my toes making cards for them and it was time for me to start enjoying crafting again. With the boom in social networks and the introduction of Folksy I decided to go 'on-line' and specialise in making Beautiful Things.
I knew that it was meant to be when I discovered a blog by Dolly Dollop who featured instructions to make the most beautiful teacup candle.
On visiting the local charity shop with my very good friend Lea what should I see but the very same teacup sitting lonely on the shelf, just crying out to be filled with wax. So I bought her, took her home and did just that. Opened my folksy shop and the rest as they say is history.
Except for the fact that I got a double blast of meant to be when my version of the teacup candle was the first item to sell in my little Folksy shop!
